Turkey Student Visa from Bangladesh 2027: Full Guide

Every year a handful of Bangladeshi students walk into an office in Banani with a Turkish university acceptance letter in hand, convinced the hard part is over. It usually isn't. Türkiye is one of the genuinely affordable study destinations left for a Bangladeshi family — but the route from Bangladesh has three specific traps, and none of them are on the glossy pages competitors publish.

This guide covers the Turkey student visa from Bangladesh 2027 route the way we check it at Eduvisa: against the Turkish Presidency of Migration Management, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Dhaka, and the official Türkiye Scholarships calendar — not against what other agencies repeat to each other.

Can Bangladeshi students actually get a Türkiye student visa in 2027?

Yes — the route is open and workable for a Bangladesh passport holder, which is more than can be said for several countries currently being advertised to students here. Türkiye has a resident embassy in Bangladesh, an authorised visa application centre in the country, thousands of English-taught programmes, public-university tuition that starts in the hundreds of dollars, and a legal framework for student work and post-study stay that is written down rather than improvised.

What it is not is automatic. The student visa is not the e-Visa tourists use — that route cannot be converted to study status. You apply for a national student visa on the strength of a real admission, and you do it before you travel.

The legal basis matters here, because it is what protects you when an agent tells you something convenient. Student residence permits in Türkiye are governed by Articles 38–41 of the Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458, and Articles 35–39 of its Implementing Regulation. Everything in this guide about work rights, health insurance and stay-back comes from that framework as published by the Presidency of Migration Management.

Where do you apply for a Türkiye student visa in Bangladesh?

Not at the embassy. This is the single most common wasted trip we see. The Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Dhaka published a notice stating that visa applications for Türkiye are accepted only by Reired International Limited, described as the only authorised visa application centre in Bangladesh, with effect from 16 June 2019.

Verify this one before you travel to the centre. The embassy notice naming Reired International Limited is dated 13 June 2019, and the embassy's own website is not consistently maintained — its holiday table is headed "Holidays 2026" but still lists dates from 2023. An operator contract like this can change without a loud announcement. Call the visa centre and the embassy consular line before you make the trip, especially if you are travelling in from outside Dhaka.

What documents do you need — and what exactly is "denklik"?

The document that catches Bangladeshi students out is not the bank statement. It is the denklik belgesi — a high-school equivalence certificate confirming that your HSC is equivalent to a Turkish high-school diploma. Turkish universities treat it as mandatory to finalise registration, and it can be obtained either from the Turkish mission in your home country or from the Ministry of National Education after you arrive in Türkiye.

Students who leave denklik until after landing frequently find their registration frozen while classes have already started. Starting it from Bangladesh, before you fly, is almost always the better sequence.

The order matters more than the speed — most lost intakes come from doing these five steps out of sequence.

Your educational documents also need to be legalised, and here Bangladeshi students now have an advantage that most guides have not caught up with.

The underlying attestation chain in Bangladesh still runs education board → Ministry of Education → Ministry of Foreign Affairs. What changes is what happens at the end of it. Because this is new and the practice at individual Turkish institutions is still settling, confirm with your specific university's international office what form of legalisation they will accept before you pay for anything.

How much does it cost to study in Türkiye?

Less than almost anything comparable in Western Europe — that is the honest headline, and it is why Türkiye keeps appearing on "cheapest countries" lists in the Bangladeshi press.

Treat every figure in that table as a planning range, not a quote. Published tuition figures for Turkish public universities vary widely between sources, and the visa fee is set reciprocally per nationality and changes. The only numbers worth budgeting on are the ones on your own university's official fee page and the fee confirmed by the visa application centre for a Bangladeshi passport.

One cost you can control: health insurance. Under the migration authority's published rules, a separate private health policy is not required if you request general health insurance within three months of your enrolment date. Miss that three-month window and you lose the right to state cover, and private insurance becomes compulsory — a self-inflicted expense that lasts your whole degree.

Can you work while studying in Türkiye?

Yes, but later and more narrowly than the marketing suggests. Your residence permit does not give you the right to work; a separate work permit does, and only an employer can apply for it.

1
Undergraduates: nothing in year one. The right to work for associate and undergraduate students starts only after the first year of study. There is no hardship exception.
2
From year two, part-time only. Undergraduates can hold a work permit for part-time work, and for jobs outside the university campus.
3
Master's and PhD students start earlier. Graduate-level students can obtain a work permit from their first year, and for full-time or part-time work.
4
The employer applies, not you. You find the job first; the company then applies to the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.
5
Working without a permit risks your stay. Middle East Technical University's international students office states plainly that if you are found working without an official work permit, your residence permit can be cancelled.

Plan your first year on the assumption that you will earn nothing. Any student budget for Türkiye that quietly assumes part-time income from month one is not a budget — it is a hope.

What happens after you graduate — is there really a stay-back?

There is one, and it is genuinely useful. It is also routinely oversold, and this is where we would push back hardest on what students are being told.

Under the short-term residence permit categories published by the migration authority, a foreigner who applies within six months of graduating from a higher education programme in Türkiye may be granted a residence permit for job-seeking purposes. The official wording is specific: the permit "is issued only once" and "can be issued maximum for one year."

There is a second detail almost nobody mentions. Türkiye's long-term (indefinite) residence permit requires eight years of continuous residence — but in calculating those eight years, only half the duration of student residence permits counts. A four-year bachelor's degree therefore contributes two years, not four, toward that eight-year clock. If someone has sold you a Turkish degree as a fast track to permanent residence, that single sentence is the arithmetic they skipped.

How do Türkiye Bursları scholarships work, and when do you apply?

Türkiye Bursları (Türkiye Scholarships), run by YTB, is the reason many Bangladeshi students look at Türkiye at all. It is a fully-funded government scholarship, and unlike the tuition figures above, its calendar is fixed and published.

StageTiming
Applications10 January – 20 February
EvaluationMarch – April
InterviewsApril – June
ResultsEarly August
Travel to TürkiyeSeptember

Two things follow from that calendar. First, the window is roughly six weeks long, once a year — miss 20 February and you wait twelve months. Second, because results land in early August and departure is in September, the gap between "I got it" and "I fly" is about four weeks. Documents, denklik and apostille work started in August will not be ready. Source: the official Türkiye Scholarships application calendar.

What do Bangladeshi students most often get wrong?

At Eduvisa we spend a lot of time undoing the same handful of assumptions. These are the ones that cost students real money and real intakes:

  • Turning up at the embassy in Baridhara to lodge a visa application instead of the authorised centre in Banani.
  • Leaving the denklik equivalence certificate until after arrival, then missing registration.
  • Assuming the tourist e-Visa can be converted into student status after landing. It cannot.
  • Budgeting on part-time earnings in the first undergraduate year, when work is not legally possible.
  • Missing the three-month general health insurance window and paying for private cover for the whole degree.
  • Believing a two-year stay-back, or that four study years count fully toward the eight-year long-term permit.
  • Starting the attestation chain in the same month the scholarship results are announced.

None of these are exotic problems. They are sequencing problems — and sequencing is precisely what a good consultancy is for. What we do on a Türkiye file is map your specific documents against your specific university's registration deadline and work backwards, because the correct order for a Chattogram-board HSC holder applying to a public university in Ankara is not the same as for a private-university applicant in Istanbul.

A note on scope. This post is blog research for Bangladeshi students weighing up Türkiye. It is not a statement that Eduvisa currently processes Türkiye applications. Visa rules, fees and authorised operators change — verify anything here with the embassy, the visa application centre or your university before you act on it.

Not sure whether Türkiye is the right call for you?

Every file is different. Your board, your HSC year, your gap, your budget and your target city all change the sequence — and the sequence is what decides whether you make the intake. Come and sit with us, bring your documents, and we will tell you honestly what your route looks like, including if the answer is that another country suits you better.
